Job Summary
Africare is collaborating with RAS Tabora and RAS Katavi to implement a 5 years project called "Main streaming Sustainable Forest Management in the Miombo Woodlands of Western Tanzania" funded by GEF/ UNDP/Government of Tanzania. The goal of the project is to secure ecosystems and biodiversity values while providing a buffer to the Congolian Rain Forests, ensuring food security and sustainable livelihoods. The objective of the project is "To enable miombo dependent communities to adopt productive practices that are sustainable and favorable to biodiversity conservation reduce carbon emissions from land use change and improve livelihoods". The project's immediate focus is an area of 133,400 hectares covering 4 wards: Usinge, Imalamakoye, Mbola and Inyonga in Kaliua, Urambo, Uyui and Miele Districts respectively.
Africare is seeking to recruit a self-motivated and qualified candidate to fill the position of a National Project Coordinator.


Competencies
The position requires: Good Leadership and Management/Coordination Skills and extensive background knowledge in natural resources management, ecosystem planning and sustainable Forest Management and Land-use planning. The post will also require significant experience in working with governments (both central and LGAs), NGOs and the private sector; and working with sub grantees/ CSOs .

Qualifications Education
Minimum of a Masters Degree in Forestry or related discipline. At least 10 years working experience in Forest Management or related projects/ programmes in the development context.
Experience:Good management and co-ordination skills, with experience of technical project implementation with excellent interpersonal skills and good team spirit:
Experience in writing project reports and management plans;
Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the project areas.
Knowledge in use of computer software packages for word-processing, excel, Power Point, Databases and spreadsheets, internet. Proven experience in coordinating and monitoring projects.
Experience and skills in training and transfer of knowledge.
Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
Ability to follow deadlines, accuracy and attention to detail.
Good knowledge on emerging challenges in desertification and climate change. Experience in writing project reports and management plans.
Willingness to participate in field activities/surveys and travel to remote areas within the region. Experience in working with NGOs and CSO.
Ability to work under tight timelines
Language:Fluent in spoken and written both English and Kiswahili is a must.

AKHST is seeking to recruit qualified community outreach supervisors, Community Health Coordinator and Data Manager for joining hands initiative (JHI) project to improve maternal, New Born and Child Health (MNCH) in five Target Regions In Tanzania. Through strengthening " Community Based And Quality MNCH Services, Capacity Building at Primary Health Care Level and Strengthening the Link with the referral services, the Project will work towards addressing the key barriers to MNCH that are primarily responsible for causing poor health outcomes for women of reproductive age and children under five years in Tanzania. Key Responsibilities.
The Data Manager is required to manage data in Monitoring, Evaluation and Research unit. He or she is responsible for the creation, updating, maintenance and validation of project clinical study databases and for the provision of computerized reports of these data.
He/she will provide regular analysis and reports for the JHI Project activities and systematize the data collection and reporting system, manage project data through review, computerization, cleaning and auditing of project / clinical data and data bases in compliance with standard operating procedures, client guidelines and regulatory agency guidelines.
Academic/Education Qualification, Knowledge & Experience
Degree in Statistics, Public health, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Science, Computer Science, or equivalent qualifications from recognized University; Masters Degree in computer science and statistics will be an added advantage. 3-5 years experience in data management and good leadership skills, ideally in a clinical setting.
