22-year-old Ashley Agumbi died in November 2014 from diabetes complications, after her British boyfriend Carl Singleton flushed her insulin medication down the toilet. He allegedly locked her in the house even though her condition was deteriorating.
41-year-old Singleton is accused of causing Agumbi’s death.The Nairobi University student died after suffering hypertension and respiratory failures at a hospital in Eastleigh.
Singleton appeared in court in December and was released, but the Director of Public Prosecutions, Keriako Tobiko, revisited the file and ordered the Briton’s re-arrest. He is scheduled to appear in court this week, after being arrested near the Jomo Kenyatta airport as he was getting ready to leave the country.
