The five-month-old infant had begun to turn blue when his aunt and fellow motorists performed mouth-to-mouth at the side of the road
These dramatic pictures show the moment a desperate aunt performs life-saving mouth-to-mouth on her baby nephew, after the infant stopped breathing in the middle of grid-locked traffic.
Captured by photographer Al Diaz, who was also caught in the motorway snarl-up, the images document Pamela Rauseo as she gives CPR to five-month-old Sebastian de la Cruz at the side of a Florida highway.
Leaping from the car, she frantically screamed at other drivers for help as the infant turned blue, the New York Daily News reports.
She then laid him across her lap and began mouth-to-mouth, as other Good Samaritans came to her aid.
Fellow motorist Lucila Godoy took over the CPR , while Miami Herald snapper Mr Diaz ran between the traffic and found a policeman in his patrol car.
The cop, Amauris Bastidasy, rushed to Ms Rauseo's side where he too tried mouth-to-mouth on little Sebastian, and managed to get him breathing again.
But the drama wasn't over.
Sebastian then stopped breathing for a second time, before emergency crews arrived, began CPR once again and got the baby - who had been born prematurely - breathing once again.
He was later taken to hospital, where he is said to be recovering well
