JOB DISCRIPTION

Contract Duration: Annually, renewable depending on performance and availability of fund.
General Overview:
The Information Technology Officer reports to the IT Manager and monitor and maintain the computer systems and networksof HJFMRI-Tanzania. The IT Officer installs and configures computer systems, diagnoses hardware and software faults and
solves technical and applications problems, either over the phone or in person.



Duties and responsibilities:
Provides technical supervision of the IT assistant; supervises as directed; annually updates IT job descriptions; completes IT
staff evaluations;
 Creates and maintains LAN;
 Provides technical support and routine preventive maintenance to telephone, photocopiers and email requests from users for
all PC hardware, software and associated peripherals;
 Logs support calls and document their outcome to facilitate the resolution of common queries;
 Redirects or escalate support requests to the appropriate member of the IT department as maybe needed;
 Pro-actively provides information to users on the progress of outstanding support;
 Contributes to ensuring that the Help Desk systems and software are kept up to date and messages are passed on and
feedback received promptly;
 Deploys PCs and associated peripherals including new installations and the redeployment of existing equipment;
 Installs and configure operating systems to agreed standards under the direction of the IT Manager;
 Maintains the existing PCs and peripherals to standards determined by the Team Leader, by performing upgrades, new
installations and carrying out routine procedures;
 Helps the Support Assistants develop their skills and knowledge with respect to front-line support;
 Assists in the compilation and maintenance of an accurate inventory of hardware and software;
 Assists in the compilation of the Support Centre’s technical documentation, guidelines and procedures and ensure they are
disseminated to users;
 Liaises with colleagues in all Directorate Support and Technical Development teams to ensure continuity of service for all
users;
 Provides at all times a professional, courteous and rapid response to individual users;
 Undertakes such other work as may be assigned which is consistent with the nature of the job and its level of responsibility;
 Establishes and maintain effective working relationships within and outside local government;
 Maintains personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate
training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training;
 Undertakes such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the
general level of responsibility of this job.
 Performing other duties as directed by the immediate supervisor.

Education and/or Experience:
 Bachelor’s degree from three-year College or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent
combination of technical education and experience.
Computer Skills:
 The following computer proficiency is (are) required: Internet Explorer; Microsoft Access; Microsoft Excel; Microsoft Outlook;
Microsoft PowerPoint; Microsoft Publisher; Microsoft Word; Lotus Notes.
 Analytical skills

Other Skills and Qualifications:
 Ability to read, analyze and interpret general technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports,
business correspondence and procedure manuals. Fluent in English and Kiswahili.
 Ability to calculate figures and amounts (basic math).
 Knowledge of and experience with: LANS/WANS; Windows Server Environment; Microsoft SQL Server; Microsoft Exchange;
Internet Information Services; backup systems; network/workstation peripherals; print servers; firewalls, spam & antivirus
hardware/software; JavaScript, HTML, Cascading Style Sheets; computer hardware (replacing hard drives, hardware drivers,
etc.)

PROJECT ACCOUNTANT POSITION

The Accountant will support the Finance Lead in performance of accounting and financial management support to the organisation, ensuring that appropriate systems, procedures and controls are in place and duly followed to support the continued growth of the organisation. S/he will ensure availability of timely, accurate complete financial information for purposes of analysis, audit and or decision making at all times.

The post involves travel within Tanzania and internationally.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

• FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING

• Review centre incomes/Service numbers report against support documentation and posting them to SUN
• Review staff advances request against approved project activity plans and budget and organisational policy considerations.
• Prepare donor financial reports in line with donor reporting requirements and standards in the absence of project accountant
• Support the coordination of the financial audit, preparation of statutory accounts and subsequent annual reports for EMT and MSI:
• Processes and monitors trade receivable transactions including posting invoices, reconciling accounts receivable ledger, resolving uncollected amounts, and/or monitoring aging reports
• Processes supplier invoices including verifying and/or obtaining payment approval, matching purchase orders and receiving reports, and addressing exceptions
• Processes and monitors account payable disbursements: recalculating invoices, reviewing account codes for accuracy, and verifying supporting documents and data
• Process employee retirements of imprests and expense claims, including the checking of supporting documentation, reconciling receipt information, reviewing for policy compliance, posting data, and issuing statements to staff of staff debtor balances every month.
• Performs internal audit sort-of reviews of the centres and outreach teams, documenting his/her work and supporting the visited teams to ensure full compliance with organizational policies and best practice
• Performs month end procedures to ensure a smooth period end closure.
• Maintains supporting work papers for general ledger for accrued expenses at year-end.
• Prepares, maintains, and/or revises customized templates/reports and/or spread sheets relating to project overhead contributions, al ledger transactions, purchase order status tracking, prepayment amortisation and leases.
• Provides direction, work coordination, and training to other Accounting Technicians, assisting with more difficult and complex problems as needed
• Performs general office/clerical support duties such as responding to telephone inquiries, filing

• TREASURY

• Manage daily bank transactions. Ensure that payments are processed, proper endorsement, and distributes cheques
• Ensure that all statutory requirements are met on time i.e. PAYE, Pension and Worker’s Compensation etc:
• Ensure all financial transactions are in line with MST policies and procedures, sound accounting principles and MSI partnership standards

• BUDGETING

• Support Deputy Finance Director in ensuring timely preparation of annual operational and capital budgets, performing revisions where appropriate
• Monitor expenditure trends and provide timely advice and explanation on potential over or under spends to programme managers and senior management:
• Capacity build project and field staff with budgeting and financial management skills essential to running their projects/centres.

• INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND INTERNAL CONTROLS

OTHER

• Provide technical financial staff training where necessary : i.e. On- the- job -training ,through coaching or formal short courses facilitated by managers themselves to develop skills and knowledge

• Other responsibilities as required by supervisor or due to change in role though change in organisational changes.

Because of the expansion of our business, we plan to urgently recruit the services of Office Administrator who will perform the following duties; list not exhausted:

1. Administration: – General office administration & Management (Office arrangement, cleaning, receiving and routing documents/communications; attending to physical visits & calls by clients. Supervise both light motor vehicle and transit truck drivers by scheduling & monitoring their daily logistics.

2. Accounts: The incumbent must be well conversant with the usage of QuickBooks Accounting System. Must have the ability of entering and retrieving data into/from the system for management usage. These includes but not limited to preparing of Petty Cash & Cheque Payment Vouchers, issuing invoices, producing reports, making necessary & approved adjustments, submission/remittance of government and employees dues within set time frame, banking all received payment, cash withdraws and Petty Cash Management. Submit & remit to the authorities & institutions all due payments and/or remittance. Be contact person with the contracted external auditors; ensure that accounts are audited within the stipulated time frame.

3. Any other duties as assigned by the Director or directives by the board of directors. We looking for mature individual with age limit of between 35-45 yrs old.

Supervisors – Medium and low Voltage Line Construction (8 Posts)

Qualifications and Skills:
Detailed knowledge of Medium and Low Voltage Line construction and supervision
Thorough knowledge of applicable work practices and procedures, and safety requirements
Must have good written and oral communications ability in English.
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in line construction.
Experience in Rural Electrification Projects and working with TANESCO projects
, Holder of Diploma/FTC in electrical engineering from any recognized Institution.
Possession of computer knowledge is an added advantage.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate is expected to work in Mbeya, Iringa, Pwani, Tanga, Arusha or Mara regions. The role
of the supervisor shall be to oversee the supervision of MV/LV line and substations construction.
She/he will oversee each phase of the installation, materials, equipment inspection and approval of
contractors’ works for compliance with design and specifications.
