JOB TITLE: ZONAL LEGAL OFFICER (2 Posts)

Next to its current passion as a leading provider of electricity is to be more efficient customer focused utility for Tanzania and beyond. The Company has the largest electricity generation, transmission and distribution network in Tanzania. In order to reach its goals, the Company will, invest heavily in its generation, transmission and distribution network, its business systems and human capital. Sufficient Computer skills.
JOB TITLE: ZONAL LEGAL OFFICER (2 Posts)
Reporting to: Senior Zonal Manager
POSITION OBJECTIVE
To be an officer- in-charge of all legal issues at the Zonal level and assist in handling all kinds of litigations and disputes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• To review contract documents relating to procurement of services and goods done in the Zone
• Advice on the legal position in all disputes arising between the Company and the Customers
• Advice on legal position in disputes related to staff matters
• Attend and defend the company in courts or tribunals when the company is involved
•To make follow up of legal documents relating to titles including land titles and way leaves.
•To prepare monthly reports on the status of cases or tribunal proceedings in the zone
• To draft simple legal documents as may be required in the zone.
• In conjunction with the Secretariat, to prepare pleadings (Written Statement of Defense, counter affidavits, opening statements etc.) whenever is necessary.
• Generally to advice on all legal matters.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• good bachelor degree in law
• registered member of the TANGANYIKA Law Society
• registered Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania
•least 3 years of working experience in a recognised legal firm or institution
REMUNERATION AND BENEFITS:

JOB TITLE: LEGAL OFFICER (2 Posts)
Reporting to: Principal Legal Officer
POSITION OBJECTIVE
Perform legal services in accordance with Tanesco requirements.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drafting and/or reviewing Company contract.
• Providing Legal advices/opinion for the benefit of the company.
• Responsible in signing contract on behalf of the company.
• Representing / defending the company in civil cases including preparation of necessary pleadings.
• Liaises with external lawyers respecting to outsourced court cases.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
•good bachelor degree in law.
•registered member of the TANGANYIKA Law Society.
•registered Advocate of the High Court of Tanzania.
•At least 1 year of working experience in a recognised legal firm or institution.
