POSITION; ASSISTANT SECURITY INVESTIGATOR (RE-ADVERTISED)

The US Embassy is seeking for an individual for the position of Assistant Security Investigator in the Regional Security Office.

BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION
Incumbent serves in the office responsible for personnel and criminal investigations. Provides advice and counsel on dealing with police personnel as well as when dealing with complex cultural governmental and protocol issues when dealing with Tanzanians from all levels of government.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
50%
• Performs a full range of personnel investigation-related activities to determine the suitability of the employees for local mission employment.
30%
• Advises the Senior Security Investigator and Embassy Security Officers on potential Mission security threats, court proceedings and status of police investigations.
• Provides access to and maintenance of liaison relationship between the RSO and the Host country police and security officials.
10%
• Requests assistance from police in both traffic and CID divisions during investigations and for VIP events. Provides coordination for VIP visits and when arranging weapons permits for these visits. Includes VIP events and functions at the Embassy itself. Serves as head of office in absence of lead FSNI.

10%
• Responds to and investigates emergency calls including accidents involving Mission Personnel and crimes committed against Mission personnel. This includes after hours calls. This also includes writing reports, taking photographs, making sketches, and determining fact during stressful and sometimes dangerous situations.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
All applicants must address each selection criterion detailed below with specific and comprehensive information supporting each item.
• Education: Completion of Secondary School (Form VI) is required.
• Work Experience: From two to three years Military, Police, private or other investigative experience.
• Language proficiency: Level IV English (fluent) and Kiswahili (speaking, writing and reading) is required.
• Knowledge: Must understand roles and duties of all levels of Embassy staff and offices. Jobholder must have intimate knowledge of country, regions and districts politically and economically. He must have knowledge of government positions as well as tribal affiliations. Expert level subject matter knowledge of both GOT and USG procedures. Must be able to know 12 FAM-Certification.
• Skills and Abilities: Ability to maintain extensive contacts with officials of various local agencies. Ability to exercise initiative and resourcefulness in obtaining information or evidence. Ability to draft precise reports in English and in the host country language. Driver’s license, typing and computer skills required.

SELECTION PROCESS

Background
UNICEF Tanzania is recruiting a WASH Officer who will be working under the leadership/ guidance of Chief of Field Office - Zanzibar and technical advice from Chief WASH – Dar es Salaam, accountable for professional technical contribution to programme/project design, planning, administration, monitoring and evaluation of WASH programme/project activities, data analysis and progress reporting, and commitment for enhancement of teamwork and capacity building, in support of achievement of planned objectives of the work plan, aligned with country programme goals and strategy.

Major Accountabilities
• Ensure the availability of accurate, complete and up-to-date information required for effective WASH programme and project design, implementation, management, monitoring and evaluation. Draft sound WASH programme budgets for review by the supervisor, including concrete steps to enhance emergency preparedness and response.
• Enhance programme efficiency and effectiveness through evidence base approach and implementation follow-on, including monitoring UNICEF inputs, local conditions and resources, flow of supply and non-supply and emergency assistance and WASH programme status.
• Analyze collected data and information and prepare progress reports; draft changes in WASH project work plans and assist in identification of required supplies and equipment (for both development and emergency orientated activities) as well as in the drafting of Country Programme Recommendation and other programme documentation, assuring accuracy and consistency with established rules, regulations and plans of action.
• Ensure the appropriateness of financial, administrative and supply documentation; verify that WASH programme expenditures are within allotments and that data is consistent with the programme information and database (e.g., FLS, VISION. Follow up on queries or initiate corrective action on discrepancies. Collaborate with Monitoring & Evaluation office on maintaining a gender & equity focus in WASH data collection and reporting.
• Compile WASH programme implementation, preparedness, and training and orientation materials to promote knowledge sharing with counterparts, WASH sectoral stakeholders, donors and media.
• Ensure the effective communication and networking developed and maintained through partnership and collaboration.
• Collaborate with Operations staff to implement internal controls systems and resolve day-to-day issues or discrepancies in financial or supply management.
• Team with local Government and sectorial stakeholders counterparts to exchange information on WASH programme implementation, status, capacity and risk mapping, preparedness as well as movement, prepositioning and distribution of supplies.
• Coordinate with members of the development community, including NGOs, UN and bilateral agencies in the exchange of information relating to WASH sector. Where appropriate support the IASC WASH Cluster during preparedness and response to emergencies.

Expected Qualification and Experience
• University degree in one of the disciplines relevant to the following areas: Public Health, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geology, Hydrology, Sanitation Engineering, or a field relevant to international WASH related development assistance.
• Minimum 2 years of professional work experience in the UN or other international development organization and national government and field work experience.
• Background/ and familiarity with Emergency preparedness and response (and the IASC Cluster approach).
• Fluency in Swahili and English, spoken and written.

Job Purpose

• Manage the design and production of all business Marketing materials and collateral. Ensure the relevant and required approvals are obtained to ensure productions and initiatives are complacent with the Corporate Identity guidelines and manual and has been duly approved

• Ensure active engagement with digital and social media moderator to ensure that the digital and social media outlets of the bank are managed properly and help business achieve set objectives
• Co-ordinate all meetings/interactions with business units, internal and external stakeholders and Agencies. Deadlines and budgets need to be met without exception.
• Coordinate surveys to measure service delivery, share results with business, take remedial action, and ensure consistently high quality customer experience across the network.
• Co-ordination of commercial sponsorships specific to SBT and ensure effective management according to agreed criteria.
• Leveraging off the sponsorship platforms of group-level sponsorship properties.
• People management such as Performance Management,
• Talent Management, Career Management for direct report(s).
• Ensure all communications builds, and is aligned to the defined and agreed Brand Strategy.
• Develop and maintain mutually beneficial and effective relationships between Business Unit and SBT Marketing Functions.
• To provide feedback to SBA Central marketing teams.
• To ensure that all marketing activities in Tanzania are aligned to guidelines developed by Group Marketing Africa.
• Ensure that all advertising and media that is specific to SBT complies with the marketing and advertising codes of practices, banking regulations, codes of practices and laws that are relevant to SBT and Standard Bank Group.


Preferred Qualification and Experience
Knowledge
• BA qualification in Marketing or equivalent

Experience
• 2 years experience in Marketing of which 1 year should be at management level with a proven track record.
