Location: 1 Mbeya, 1 Mwanza


Position Summary:
To provide HIV/AIDS nursing support services to children and their care providers
attending the COE.
Duties and Responsibilities
To provide basic assessment and triage i.e. monitoring and recording vital signs,
growth and development monitoring; including weight and height assessment
using plotted growth charts
Identify patients who need immediate attention
Obtain Investiqations and provide emergency medications Perform HIV testing and counseling
Assist doctors to do investigations and procedures Attend COE meetings
Ensure smooth flow of patients to different areas of the unit
To support patients and their caregivers by providing information about HIV/AIDS . and helping them to problem solve to optimize their care and treatment through individual counseling and health talks
To identify cases for referral and discussion ':"lith other members of COE care and
treatment team to provide enhanced patient care
Assist in escorting patients to their referral units/wards.
To provide education to medical trainees regarding pediatric and general HIV/AIDS
care
To provide technical assistance to health care providers in pediatric and general
HIV/AIDS prevention, diagnosis, care, treatment and complications both within the COE as well as in outside facilities
Providing quality nursing services to the patients
To participate in outreach activities including supervising community groups,
Qualifications & Skills:
Registered or enrolled nurse with minimum of 3 years experience Registered by the Tanganyika Nurses and Midwives Council Training in HIV/AIDS from a recognized institution
Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to work as part of a team Counseling skills is an added advantage

Position Summary:
To provide HIV/AIDS related counseling to children, adolescents and their care providers
attending the CDE.
Duties and Responsibilities
To provide HIV / AIDS related counseling and support which includes pre-and post
diagnostic test counseling, medication adherence, disclosure and on-going
counseling to COE patients and their care providers
To create and maintain individualized patient counseling records and other relevant
counseling documentation
To provide education and technical assistance to health care workers regarding
HIV/AIDS related counseling issues
To identify cases for referral and discuss with other members of CDE care and
treatment team to enhance client care
To support patients and their care providers in developing woblem solving skills which will lead to improved wellbeing
To provide clinical nursing care in COE as needed
Providing education to medical trainee" regarding pediatric and general HIV/AIDS
care
Providing technical assistance to health care providers in pediatric and general
HIV/AIDS prevention, diagnosis, care, treatment and complications both within the COE as well as in outside facilities
To Participate in testing campaigns for children outside the clinic
To offer psychosocial support in different support groups at the clinic and outside
To participate in research activities as requested
Other duties as assigned by nurse matron and clinical director
Qualifications I Skills
Registered or enrolled nurse with minimum of 3 years clinical experience and at least
1 year counseling experience;
Training and experience in HIV related counseling
Excellent communication and writing skills with the ability to work as part of a team.

Position Summary:
To provide counseling to patients with medical problems affected by nutritional status and
provide nutrition education to patients with a focus on disease prevention.
Duties and Responsibilities
Provides nutritional counseling on an individual basis upon referral QY clinicians as a
part of the clinical treatment plan.
Provides education on the use of nutritional supplements for patients with severe
acute malnutrition and provides patient these supplements
Provides continued management and assessment of patients receiving outpatient treatment: for severe malnutrition and refers to clinician as needed for medical complications
Use electronic medical record and database to track and monitor patients with
severe malnutrition
Participates in inpatient rounds for children with severe malnutrition
Provides education and lactation support to breastfeeding mothers
Assess nutritional needs and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-rare plans and provides nutritional counseling.
Advise clients and their families on nutritional principles, dietary plans and diet
modific1tions, and food selection and preparation.
Counsel individuals and groups of patients on basic rules of good nutrition, healthy
eating habits, and nutrition monitoring to improve their quality of life.
Provides nutritional counseling for groups of patients needing ongoing assistance with management of a specific nutritional problem as a part of the overall clinical
treatment plan.
Develops and implements new nutrition programs and services based on patients'
needs.
Directs the implementation of the nutrition component of the overall clinic services
Prepares reports on consumption of nutritional supplements (TFNC) and orders nutritional supplies through local supply chain.
Conducts a peer education outreach program in basic nutrition and maintains
supervisory responsibility for peer education outreach activities.
Participates in and develops outreach programs to train health care workers in the identification and management of children with malnutrition
Develops and maintains print and non-print educational materials on nutritional
Qualifications and Experience
Graduate from a recognized university with a degree in nutrition or its equivalent
qualification in nutrition education with at least two years experience in the field
Licensure as a registered dietitian is an added advantage
Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of nutritional care and
counseling.
Prior experience with children with severe acute malnutrition is an added advantage
High level of confidentiality and integrity
