Description
• Provide technical expertise to drillers and blasters as necessary to ensure that the drilling and blasting program
adheres to internal standards.
• Responsible for the consumption and receipt of explosives..
• To prepare all statutory records.
• To work as Magazine- master.
• Identify continuous improvement opportunities and deal with drilling and blasting issues as necessary.
• Track and maintain explosive inventories for ordering and regulatory requirements.
• Track and monitor inventories of drill steel, hammers, and miscellaneous parts.
• Conduct routine inspection and audits to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, policies and procedures.
• Enforce drilling and blasting standards and work to upgrade blasters skills.
• Responsible for scheduling and organizing staff for shift operations.
• Recommend techniques and products for improvement of operations.
• Conduct initial surveys, risk assessments and environmental impact assessments on potential sites to assess
whether plans are workable.
• Select locations and plan surface mining operations, specifying processes, labour usage, and equipment that will
result in safe, economical, and environmentally sound extraction of minerals and ores.
