Earlier today (Dec. 13), fans of Kanye West were confused, shocked and outraged that he chose to meet with the president-elect.
Prior to being admitted to the hospital after suffering a nervous breakdown, West admitted that if he had voted, Donald Trump would have gotten his vote.
This afternoon, following his much-discussed interaction with Trump, West took to his Twitter account after almost a month-long hiatus to share exactly what he was doing at Trump Tower in New York City.
While several reports alleged that Trump wanted to meet with Kanye to discuss a potential role for the rapper in his administration, West is now explaining the reason behind the meeting in his own words.
"I wanted to meet with Trump today to discuss multicultural issues," Ye wrote on his Twitter account, beginning a series of tweets. "These issues included bullying, supporting teachers, modernizing curriculums, and violence in Chicago."
Ye then elaborated further, sharing why he thinks their meeting was important in the first place.
"I feel it is important to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change," he tweeted, before adding a cryptic tweet reading "#2024."
If that truly was the reason Ye met with Trump, perhaps the two are planning a course of action that could really do some good after all. We'll have to wait and see.
