So, I was doing some research about The Gambia today and found some interesting photos of the First Lady. Isn’t she just beautiful? The Gambians must be proud of her. She compliments him.
Madam Zineb Jammeh was born in Rabat, Morocco to Ambassador Soumah, a well respected career diplomat from the distinguished Guinean Soumah family and Mrs. Soumah who hails from Morocco.
Zined Jammeh was married to the Gambian President, Alhaji Dr. Yahya Jammeh in December 1998, they have two children.
She holds a Diploma in International Systems and Management. Her special duties as First Lady include the running of the Foundation For Women Socio-Economic Advancement (FOWSEA) – a subsidiary of The Jammeh Foundation for Peace.
She is also the Chief Patron of several worthy charities which include the Gambian Chapter of the Forum for Women Educationists (FAWEGAM) and Operation Save-a-Baby, a charity devoted to providing assistance to needy new born infants.
The advancement of children is particularly a special area of interest: Madam Zineb Jammeh is heavily involved in raising funds to provide scholarship packages to young children and adolescents from under-priviledged backgrounds.
She is also active in the promotion of adult literacy programmes, and ensures agricultural and development assistance to women and youths to help them establish businesses. Continue to see more photos…
