Job Description:
Logistics Officer is a critical role split between fieldwork and the office. This role will focus on
identifying and implementing transport strategies for the company, as well as managing
relationships with transport contractors. OGE is a fast­growing company, and there will be
substantial opportunities to gain additional responsibility for top performers.

Responsibilities include:
● Coordinating the movement of systems from the warehouse to its regional distribution
hubs, called service points.
● Managing reverse logistics to track systems in need of repair back from customers to the
warehouse.
● Analyzing different modes of transport and providers, and then organizing transport of
systems and accessories via best available option. ● Negotiating and setting transport payment agreements across the region.
● Managing relationships between transporters and service point managers.
● Managing and communicating transport schedules on a weekly and daily basis.
● Tracking and reporting transport costs to Distribution Coordinator and Regional Manager.
● Working collaboratively with other Logistics Officers.

Required Skills & Experiences:
● Bachelors degree in Logistics & Supply Chain Management, Procurement or other
relevant field
● At least 3 years relevant work experience
● Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship, including the ability to flourish in fast­paced,
unstructured environments and to drive work independently
● Fluent in English and Swahili
● Experience working in a demanding, high­pressure work setting
● Highly­motivated, flexible, enthusiastic, and fun!

Highly Desired Skills & Experiences:
● Work experience in logistics or supply chain management, preferably one with a clearing
and forwarding department
● Deep local knowledge of Mwanza Region, especially related to transportation prices and
options (ideally, a current resident of Mwanza or surrounding area)
● Excellent computer and record­keeping skills
● Ambition to learn and grow professionally and contribute to company growth
