Job Title: Jumbo Operator
Scope of Role

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: This position reports to Shift Boss.

CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The purpose of this role is to operate Jumbo drilling rigs for mine development and install ground support according to quality specifications safely and efficiently. Jumbo Operator is accountable for minimization of secondary breakage and over break and correct installation of ground support systems in accordance to the geotechnical plan.

ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE
A Jumbo operator has the following accountabilities and authorities:

• Accountable for the operation of a single andl or double boom jumbo drilling rig for underground development mining with installation of ground support; drilling holes into the walls and roofs of the underground mine shafts. These holes are used to bolt down and stabilise the mine by meshing the walls and roof.
• Ensures execution of end to end drilling activities using a single! double boom jumbo drilling rig in the underground mines.
• Mark up faces in accordance with geological, statutory and survey specifications inspects, cleans and washes working taceand general working area, checks and cleans bootlegs. Guards and blasts missed holes.
• Inspects scales, rockbolts, screens and straps to achieve control of ground.
• Checks condition of travelway, work area, and equipment and corrects any unsafe conditions.
• Checks and lubricates LHO vehicle, bolting machine, jumbo drill and other machinery common to mining, and services with fuel, oils, coolants, etc.
• Shoots grade and center line from pre-determined lines and determines location, spacing, number, inclination and depth of blast and bolt holes.
• Operates LHD. vehicle to muck out rounds and to load broken material into trucks or rock passes or remucks at designated locations.
• Sets up and operates various types of rock drills to drill blast holes, test holes, rock bolt holes and line plug holes, etc.
• Installs and dismantles air and water lines, ventilation duct work and other service lines.
• Makes repairs such as tightening side rods on rock drills, splicing hoses, tightening loose bolts, etc. Change ring shanks on jumbo and hydraulic hoses.
• Procures blasting agents and accessories, loads, primes, times, connects rounds, checks and extends blasting lines, blows air, guards and blasts or sets up for centrally controlled blasting operations.

REQUIRED SKILLED KNOWLEDGE

Qualification:

• Secondary School Certificate I Vocational Training! Apprenticeship in a related field I college program in heavy equipment operation
• Basic electrical and mechanical knowledge of jumbo rigs
• Blasting Ticket for Scheduled Mines and a qualification as an Artisan with solid underground operation experience as a Jumbo Operator

Experience:

• 3 years experience underground mining with Jumbo Drill machine.
• Experience with Sandvik DD321-40 Twin Boom Jumbos with split feed will be highly regarded
• Currently employed in an underground operation as a Jumbo Operator
• Emergency Response Team experience and qualifications will be highly regarded.

Must have know/edge of

• Demonstrated competency in operation of Jumbo Drill to required standards.

CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

The purpose of the role is to conduct planning work for underground production team, accountable for the delivery of the planned performance of the department with zero injuries at the lowest practical unit cost. To specify the requirements for safely, correctly and efficiently completing approved work.

ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE
The role holder has the following accountabilities and authorities
Preventive Maintenance:

• Set up a routine of planned outages for preventive inspection and defect correction: Maintenance schedules should be developed in such a way that allows attention to items of infrequent examination to be spread over a specific maintenance session cycle. This allows the matching of the work to be done with a planned outage time. The outage time should be constant to' all shifts.
Breakdown Maintenance:
• Breakdown maintenance should be attended as soon as they occur to correct the possible cause of the equipment failure. Maintenance must be done in a way that it doesn't affect the continued safe operation of equipment when the equipment fails in the mining cycle.
• Maintenance team has to give priority to any breakdown maintenance so as to get equipment back into service as quickly as possible. In addition, maintenance personnel should always investigate the cause of the trouble in order to avoid or reduce a repetition of the problem.

Key Maintenance Planner Accountabilities:

• Execute the "Plan Work" element
• Comply with quality specifications and authority levels set out in the documentation.
• Review-the Work Order Task Status Report on a daily basis: To assist in prioritizing planning work! to track upcoming work.
• Plan approved work orders (within area of accountability) for resource procurement and execution prior to the Required by Date.
• Engage With the work execution teams to contribute to planning details from those expected to do the work.
• Incorporate work execution team input into planning packages.
• Obtain sign-off on Work Packages from accountable Senior Supervisor.
• Identify and escalate all critical issues that threaten the successful planning of work orders for completion by their required by date.
• Plan work to minimize the impact on operating performance without exceeding the Required by Date for work completion.

• Maintain current knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, policies and procedures and attends standards meetings.

• In the creation and review of Work Packages an understanding and recording of associated risks and control measures is required.
Continuous Improvement
• Actively identify systems and procedures regularly within the area to maximize effectiveness and efficiency within the Company,

• Conduct training arid development to support the compliance within the team .

Context and Purpose of the Role

LHD operator operates the LHD/vehicle (Underground Loading Machines) safely. efficiently and effectively and carries out its maintenance. Operates underground loading machine to load ore into shuttle.or mine car or onto conveyors. These may include power shovels. hoisting engines equipped with cable-drawn scraper or scoop. or machines equipped with gathering arms and conveyor.

Accountabilities of the Role
The LHD Operator has the following accountabilities and authorities:

• Set up and operate drilling machine to bore designated pattern of blast holes in working face and charge explosive to blast down materials.
• Operate LHD scoop to load ore from.draw points. drifts or working face and dump onto stationary rock breaker. conveyor or crusher.
• Lever open loose material from roofs and move it into the paths of machines. using crowbars.
• Move trailing electrical cables clear of obstructions, using rubber safety gloves.
• Operate levers to rnove conveyor booms or shovels so that mine contents can be placed into cars or onto conveyors.
• Advance machines in order to gather material and convey it into cars.
• Start conveyor booms and gathering-arm motors. and operate winches to position cars under boom-conveyors for loading.
• Keep equipments and working area clean at all times. Clean hoppers. and clean spillage from tracks. walks. driveways. and conveyor decking.
• Inspect boarding and locking of open-top box cars and wedging of side-drop and hopper cars in order to prevent loss of material in transit.
• Repairing and Maintaining construction machinery / Mechanical Equipment:
• Servicing. repairing. adjusting. and testing machines. devices. moving parts. and equipment that operate primariily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles. ,
• Oil. lubricate. and adjust conveyors. crushers. and other equipment. using hand tools and lubricating equipment.

The Mine Captain Provides supervision of Underground Shift Supervisors, Surface Operation Supervisor and working in conjunction with the Mine Maintenance' Supervisor 'and Mine Technical Services groups,

ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE
Mine Captain has the following accountabilities and authorities: '

• Develop plan and organize work to achieve budgeted targets, Managing the mining operations to safely meet agreed organizational performance targets for mine production within agreed budgets and timescales;
• Safely manage day-to-day underground and Surface mining operations including supervision of underground shift supervisors and
• Surface Operation Supervisors: Promote safety behavioral and awareness for all employees;
• Leads a team of supervisors in the coordination and execution of daily mining activities, including mucking, haulage, dewatering, conveyors, skipping of rock to surface;
• Accountable for the alignment of underground production, development and construction crews. Work together as a team to achieve production goals and objectives:
• Leads, organizes and directs the on-site underground development and production work; Maintains records of production, area mined, and location of employee's equipment;
• Development and implementation of standard Operating Procedures. Organizes, prepares, performs and presents information and initiatives regarding OHS; ,
• Demonstrate record of safety leadership. Practice and promote the Shanta Gold Health and Safety Program in a whole! Including
• Drug and Alcohol Program, Environmental Program, and the Emergency Response Plan;
• Examines malfunctioning equipment orders transfer of faulty unit to surface shop or orders repair at work site;

CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

Provide technical or maintenance services on various mechanical infrastructure systems and execute mechanical related projects to maintain equipment / facilities to the required performance. The purpose of the' role is to create, install, and fix boilers and vats that contain large quantities of gas or liquid. Boiler maker is normally involved in the design, construction, maintenance .or repair of different metal products by joining parts using a variety of welding methods, either manually or by using machines.

ACCOUNTABJLITIES
To accomplish most of the tasks successfully boilmaker has to;

• Safely engaged in oxy acetylene gas torch set to cut or gouge steel plates and tubes
• Use the gas tungsten arc welding ,shielded metal arc welding or gas metal arc welding to attach and mend the cut sections of tubes and steel plates

The following are the accountabilities of this role:

• Ensure sufficient task analysis is completed to carry work out safely.
• Always. use blueprints - read drawings, work orders and production schedules to determine locations, positions, or dimensions of parts and understands job instructions and specifications. '
• Examine work for defects, and measure with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications.
• Weld sections of iron, steel copper or other metals together-to form them into large tanks or boilers.
• Repair, replace broken valves, pipes or joints, maintain and update older vessels and often replace components in boilers. ..
• Regularly test and inspect boiler systems for leaks or defects; Inspect tubes, valves and other fittings for wear and test them for leaks. .
• Oversee the cleaning of vats and repair or replace damaged sections, often using metal working machinery to fabricate parts.

• Ensure sufficient task analysis is completed to carry work out safely. Always adhere to Shanta Gold/ occupational health and safety guidelines.
• Follow instructions from Boilermakers and perform routine maintenance on tools and equipment as required,
• Carry tools, materials and work pieces to and from sites or workbenches
• Hand tools to tradespersons and hole tools not immediately required
• Assist in the selection and collection of appropriate materials, methods, equipment and tools necessary to complete the job.
• Assist in welding sections of iron, steel copper or other metals together to form them into large tanks or boilers.
• Repair, replace broken valves, pipes or joints, maintain and update older vessels and often replace components in boilers

Supervising assigned skilled trades employees, implementing and maintaining electrical maintenance services within established Shanta Gold guidelines and standards; and performing skilled Electrical maintenance as needed.

ACCOUNTABILITIES

• An. electrical foreman is in charge of large and complex projects that make use of many different electricians at the same time, and supervises the project as a' whole, from the large-scale down to the details. The following are the accountabilities and authorities for this role;
• Assessing equipment, materials and labor needed to complete complex maintenance tasks for the purpose of ensuring that maintenance activities meet standards and resolve defined issues.
• Plan, schedule, assign, supervise and participates in the repair and maintenance of electrical systems, equipment and fixtures.

The following are Batch Plant Operator accountabilities and authorities:

• Oversee all plant operations, coordinate and monitor daily work load through the plant;
• Calibrate batch plant on a daily basis. Schedule filling aggregate bunkers and cement silo;
• Monitor plant cleanness, keep area around batch plant clean;
• Operate the mixer truck and discharge the concrete. Clean and maintain the mixer truck on a regular basis;
• QA/QC: Maintain the quality control by taking the samples and test as required, calculate the water/cement ratio to know the mixes capability and break the cylinders to test the strength of the concrete. Accurately complete all the required reports on time;

CONTEXT AND PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The purpose of the role is to assist Senior Mine Surveyor and the underground team in providing accurately and timely services to the mine.
Mine surveyor is accountable for preparing and updating the entire surface and underground plans of a mine. Plan' the direction and 'extent of all underground workings, and use advanced surveying techniques and instruments to give these directions underground.

ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE

• Mine Surveyor has the following accountabilities and authorities:
• Safety: Be proactive in all aspects of operational safety based on Shanta Gold safety standards.

Survey data collection:
• Execute pits and stockpiles field survey on weekly and monthly basis to enable accurate volumes to be calculated at the end of each month for financial cost report and grade control reconciliation.
• Required to execute the survey field measurements for the volume computations for the earth/civil work.

Survey Instrument Calibration, Clean up and Handling:
• To ensure accuracy of survey data, the survey instruments should be calibrated at least once per quarter and the results recorded into the survey instrument calibration file. Calibration has to be done to the standards specified in the instruments manuals.
• Handle survey instruments properly and report to your manager immediately any damage or fault detection during the calibration, for repair.

Daily Survey Field and Office work:
• Attend the survey assigned tasks assigned on a timely manner and to the required survey standards. Ensure that the survey fields measurements are downloaded and processed on time and kept in a proper survey directory in mining sever for the further use.
• Assist in updating active pit faces for daily and weekly short term mining planning purposes and prepare a set out files from the design.
• Check the instrument (GPS/Total Station) at known stations every day before starting any survey work and the GPS results downloaded and saved into a specified surVey directory in a server.
• Survey dumps tipping toe and crest as required for updating dumps progress

Control Survey:
• Take accurate field measurements during survey control points around the pits, to be used in computation of .control points coordinates. .
• Trimble GPS fact static method (1 hour occupation time) should be used in determine lateral position of the beacons and leveling network survey using digital level instrument should be used to determine vertical position of beacons.
• In case of aerial photographyidar survey project, you may require to do .pre/post marking of the ground control points, take measurements to the points coordinates computation.

Slope Stability Monitoring:
• Take accurate prisms and laser scan measurements as per schedule and timely delivering of the data to the Geotechnical Section. Contact your manager for any technical problem with the survey monitoring systems.

Site Infrastructure Mapping:
• Assist in' survey for new buildings, roads, utilities, dumps and pits extensions for regular updating of the site map.

Void Laser Scanning:
• Whenever there is a need for scanning old undergrounds workings (voids), you will be required to collect the points clouds data with CALS. for creation and updating of void triangulation model.

Land Compensation Survey:
• May be asked to execute field survey work, whenever there is a land compensation exercise. -

Training & Development:
• Attend safety and professional training when required to do so and make use of it where applicable.
